Award-winning actor, singer, and dancer bringing characters to life with authenticity and passion in Minneapolis, MN
Evan is a queer musical theatre artist who is passionate about new work and connecting with audiences. He lives in Minneapolis, MN where he enjoys singing, performing, cherishing his friends, cooking, and video games.
Evan received his Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre from Arizona State University and moved to Minneapolis to pursue acting. Evan decided to trade the excruciating heat of Arizona's summers for the dull kiss of Minnesota's winter. Despite all of this, he is very happy.
Evan will be singing Karl-Oskar from Kristina, a musical written by Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson, the legendary songwriters of ABBA. Tickets and info can be found here: https://www.vocalessence.org/event/concert-the-concert-version-of-the-musical-kristina/#things-to-know
Evan will be portraying Lord Pinkleton in Theater Latté Da's production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella. Tickets can be found here: https://www.latteda.org/cinderella
Evan will be reprising his role of Roger which he performed in 2016! Tickets and info can be found here: https://chanhassendt.com/grease/
"Taking center stage in a leading role where he belongs, Evan Tyler Wilson shines in the title role with great energy, charisma, and confidence as the self-assured Harold, while showing moments of vulnerability as Harold ponders his legacy, and is as always pure of voice."
from The Boy Wonder: History Theatre
"Evan Tyler Wilson makes for the zaniest Pirelli--Sweeney's rivial--in memory. With patches on his outfit, like an overstuffed harlequin, and hair like Princess Leia, he cuts a remarkably memorable character. And Wilson hits high notes like nothing I've heard before--Maria Callas on helium."
from Sweeney Todd: Asolo Repertory Theatre
"Evan Tyler Wilson's high tenor is also a standout, especially on the original French version of 'O Holy Night.'"
from All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914: Theatre Latté Da
"...these actors become replicas of the criminals they portray. And, they somehow create a sympathy for them that surprised me. When John Hinkley (Evan Tyler Wilson) sings his creepy love song to his obsession, Jodie Foster, I actually felt sad."
from Assassins: Theatre Latté Da
"And Evan Tyler Wilson takes a role that seems to have little to do with the central story — one of the hospital’s nurses — and makes him extraordinarily colorful."
from A New Brain: Artistry
"Wilson’s best moment as Judas comes in the last half of Judas’ Death with its powerful reprise of I Don’t Know How to Love Him. But his most memorable turn certainly comes when he shows up as a lounge singer from hell for the title tune, surrounded by biker chicks and the original hell’s angels"
from Jesus Christ Superstar: The Duluth Playhouse
